My Skincare Routine | Oily, Blemish Prone Skin

I have struggled with oily, spot prone skin from my teen years, and I'm going to be 21 soon. So I have been on the lookout for skincare that will not only reduce the oilyness, but do so without completely drying out my skin.

Enter, Garnier's Skin Active range, for oily, blemish prone skin.

I purchased the Micellar Water, the Moisturiser, the Daily Wash and the 3 in 1 Clay Scrub, Wash, and Face Mask.

I start my routine with the Micellar Water, this stuff is fab at taking makeup off, and leaves my skin feeling so soft and clean! I use this every morning and every evening before following on with the rest of my routine.

Next, I use their Deep Pore Cleanse Wash.
I gently rub/massage over the entirety of my face, but I focus on my most oily/shiny areas, and also where I get the most spots, which for me is my nose, forehead and chin/jawline.

Lastly, I use this bad boy.
I absolutely love this moisturiser! It's a pretty blue colour, and it rubs into your skin and doesn't leave that awful sticky feeling that a lot of moisturisers can do! And I notice immediately that it reduces the oily look on my face. This also doubles up as an amazing primer before putting on your makeup!

I used to leave work with my makeup 'on fleek' and get home with half of it melted off because of my oily skin! But not with this, I come home now, and while my face has gone a bit shiny, my makeup is still fully intact! I was amazed.

As for their 3 in 1 wash, face mask, and scrub, as my skin is quite sensitive, I have only used this as a face mask so far.
It stings a bit when you first put it on, but I guess that's how you can tell it's working! I use this no more than twice a week, as I mentioned earlier, I don't want to completely dry out my skin.
I love that this can be used 3 different ways! But as this has those little scrub beads in, I haven't used this yet as a scrub or wash, I do prefer to use this just as a face mask a couple of times a week.

This range from Garnier is targeted at 'oily skin prone to imperfections' and contains 'salicylic acid and purifying zinc'. The aim of the products is to reduce pores, blackheads, shine and blemishes, and I can confirm that the range definitely does just that!
I use the micellar water, wash and moisturiser in the morning and at night, and the clay 3 in 1 twice a week, and my skin is loving them!

If I fancy I change, I will also swap out the Garnier Clay Mask for one of these Blemish Mud Masks! These smell amazing, and they leave my skin feeling so smooth!

And last, but not least, green tea! Yep, green tea!
I aim to drink between 2 and 5 cups of this a day, and the stuff has done wonders for clearing up my skin, and as an added bonus, it also promotes a faster working metabolism!

What skincare products are you loving? Do you think you'll try these out? Let me know in the comments!

  3. I've finally found a fellow blogger with oily skin! Seems like everyone I read lately has dry skin! If I don't treat my skin right it's like an oil slick by midday. The only thing I've found helpful is garnier micellar water and La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo. I might check out that three in one though, I love me a multi tasking product.
